Personality

Konan is stoic, level-headed and calm. She also appears to be impassive most of the time but bites when extremely pissed. The only person she trusts is Pein and, remotely, the other members of the Akatsuki.

Since the earliest form of income Konan got was from selling her body, she treats sex as just another form of leisure. It does not bother her to use seduction as a means to commit crimes which is how usually she does. She will not talk about her past unless extremely wasted (which is hard as she spent years building her immunity to alcohol) or in the afterglow of a tremendously good fuck session.

Konan is notorious for leaving behind blood-stained paper roses on top of her "victims" - thus being known as the Akatsuki's flower.

All in all, Konan is quite approachable and easy to talk to (the operative word being quite). She enjoys paper origami (she'll give you non-macabre one if she likes you), reading the more illegal books found in Cena, tea (more so than alcohol), and intelligent conversations.

Background

What little is known about the Akatsuki’s only female member:

It is said that Konan and Pein have known each other since their times in Ceno’s orphanage. She was silent and was often picked on by the older children because of her detachment from all the other kids. When she was eleven, she met and (for the lack of a better term) befriended Pein who was then a newcomer. Konan had given him a paper crane and a flower origami to welcome him to the orphanage because he, like her, always stood alone - after which, they were inseparable.

Konan’s peaceful days in the orphanage ended when she was found with the dead body of one of the orphanage’s children who used to torment her. She had been covered from head-to-toe with blood, unmoving, face impassive. After a trial that had lasted for a year, she was convicted with murder and moved to Cena where she made a living mostly by selling her body. It is uncertain where Pein was during these times.

Konan disappeared for a year, her whereabouts unknown. It is common speculation that she was sent by the higher-ups to do their bidding. This, however, is unconfirmed as she only returned lately and she refuses to speak about it.
